As DesktopServer has gained traction and popularity over the past year, the need for more help has grown. That’s why I am really excited to announce the addition of Gregg Franklin and Marc Benzakein to the ServerPress Team. Both Gregg and Marc have extensive experience since the early days of the Internet from running their own ISP company. Both are avid users of WordPress and seasoned developers that create WordPress based solutions.
Gregg has developed several plugins, has worked with and modified many theme frameworks, and has been doing WordPress based web development for several marketing companies in the Southern California market. When asked why he’d give all that up in order to work exclusively with ServerPress, his answer was simply, “I love WordPress, DesktopServer and I LOVE saving people time.” That just about sums up our philosophy, too!
Marc has been dealing with technology his entire life; from big university mainframes (starting at age 10!) to PCs on the desktop. For several years, he’s been leveraging WordPress to develop websites and to reach clients for his PC hardware and software repair company, Ninjatekservices. Why ServerPress? “I love the community aspect of WordPress, even more than I love WordPress itself and next to my code editor, DesktopServer is my second most used piece of software. I’d have to be insane to turn away from the opportunity to be involved with the WordPress community every day. Plus, Steve and Gregg are downright awesome. How many people get to say that they work on something they love with people they actually *like*?”
What will Gregg and Marc be doing? A lot of the things that need to be done so that we can collectively bring you even better products and services that will not only save you time but also impress you (and your clients)! We’re highly organized, but not big on job titles nor in business to play to anyone’s ego. Besides, not everything we do would fit on a business card. So, in short: customer service, tech support, marketing, operations, speaking at meetups, sponsoring WordCamps, posting more articles and “How To’s” . . . you name it. In the immediate future, look for Gregg and Marc to be responding to some of your emails and some of your forum posts! As they get brought more and more up to speed, you’ll be seeing a lot more of them (but please be nice, they’re still learning).
