This problem can occur if you have unzipped the file on a external or network drive, or didn’t unzip the file at all. Please take a moment to ensure you follow the install directions, step #2 and that the files are on a local drive such as your desktop, downloads, documents, or anywhere on your c:\ drive:

2. Unpack the .zip archive (right-click, Extract All… on Windows)

In rarer cases, this problem can be the result of third party antivirus that has inhibited or altered your operating system. Please let us know of any third-party antivirus software installed or contact the author on how to restore normal operation. DesktopServer is designed to run on fully functional Windows operating systems only.
