ServerPress Happenings & Updates
- Larry James won our Ultimate Holiday Bundle Giveaway
Larry was one of over 5000 entries in our $500+ ServerPress Ultimate Holiday Bundle Giveaway. We are so happy for him and excited to see how he leverages his new developer tools in the coming years! Congrats, Larry!! - DesktopServer 3.8.1 Was Released
We have released DesktopServer 3.8.1 which addressed a number of fixes and upgrades. Please check the release notes and upgrade as soon as you can. We will leave the last 2 versions of DesktopServer available to you for downloads, but all support requests will require the latest version and we encourage you to upgrade as soon as possible. - Sarah kicked off the Inaugural WordCamp US Lightning Talks
How cool is it that ServerPress was basically the FIRST speaker of the FIRST WordCamp US? We were honored for the privilege. Sarah presented on WordPress Project Management and you can view her slides here or watch the presentation on WordPress.tv. - Marc Survived WordCamp US
And there are photos to prove it. (And he even enjoyed it, in spite of his initial feelings about Philly in December.) Check out his cool photoblog and his Instagram account – you might actually be in one of his many photographs. - We hired Zac Gordon to make some videos for us.
This is really one of the cooler things that came out of WordCamp US. Zac has been working on the tutorials for a week or so and they’re almost ready for release. The video tutorials should roll out after the new year holidays are over, so…literally right around the corner! - We are building a CLI Component for DesktopServer and…
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
If you use the Command Line please fill out our quick survey! - And last of the housekeeping duties….WP Presenter Needs a New Home
We first introduced you to WP Presenter this past summer when Trisha Salas was doing some work for us. She did a great job helping us pull this idea together and bring it to a full Beta Release. Unfortunately, we are no longer supporting this build and are looking for a new home for the repository. If you are interested in taking over this theme, we would love to give it to you! It has a nice group of influential followers on GitHub and in the right hands, it could be a nice presentation option for WordCamp presenters.

New Year, New Workflow Giveaway
During Matt Mullenweg’s 2015 State of the Word at WordCamp US, he emphasized the importance of learning JavaScript. It would be so awesome if everyone could just do a little legwork and BOOM – you immediately level up to JavaScript Ninja. Right!?
Well that’s not reality. Reality is, many people need to polish up a wide range of skills in order to be able to even BEGIN tackling JavaScript. We heard the question posed time and again between the Q&A portion of the State of the Word and days following WordCamp, “Where do I even start?”
DesktopServer gives you a perfect local development environment to build, break, test, tweak, and perfect all your skills as you grow into JavaScript experts. And we genuinely want to help you achieve all your design and development workflow goals in 2016. SO…
